In March 217 Katharine spent a week at Cape Cornwall, then travelled along the north Cornish coast towards St Agnes. In mostly wet and windswept days she walked on the coastal path drawing and painting amongst the remains of the former mining industry.
Arriving at Pendour Cove, Zennor the weather brightened. In the painting made that day, Bright weather, Zennor, the sun beams down on the scratched lines of grasses and vegetation growing on the cliff and sea birds like darts skid across the sky.
